The Higher Education Support Amendment (Abolition of Compulsory Up-front Student Union Fees) Bill 2005 was passed in the Senate on the 9th of December. The VSU Legislation will save Australian Students $161.84 MILLION DOLLARS, which would have otherwise gone to unaccountable student unions such as WUSA, which spent $80,000 of its budget on political campaigns that would only appeal to a minority of students.

The UOW Liberal Club is proud that the Federal Patron of the UOW Liberal Club, The Hon. Dr Brendan Nelson MP, was able to achieve a goal held by Liberal Students for over 25 years.
