January 2007: UOW Liberals successfully lobby for better car parks on campus UOW Liberal Club Secretary and member of the Academic Senate; Warren Hudson successfully lobbied UOW management for improvements to the parking situation on campus. During peak periods, on-campus parking is in high demand, and many students end up circling the car parks for 20 minutes looking for a space to park. Warren Hudson met with university officials in late 2006 and put forward the case for real-time information as to where parking is currently available. The new system, which is currently operational in the Western car park, provides real-time information as to how many spaces are currently available. It is hoped that through providing this information to students, that traffic congestion within the Western car park will be eased.
