UOW Students finally find a use for WUSA's magazine, the 'Tertangala' PDF Print E-mail

UOW Students finally find a use for WUSA's magazine, the 'Tertangala'

The latest issue of the "Queer" Tertangala encourages students to "Fight the rich", stage a "Class War", and openly declares itself as "Anti-Capitalist". Is that all, you ask? Not even close.

The 'Tert' also directs students and those of the working class to cut out an anti-capitalist message, attach it to a brick, and to throw it through windows of those belonging to the so called "elite upper class".

How about WUSA's more moderate suggestion of throwing Molotov cocktail's at the rich? Or WUSA's statement that it's a "Myth" that "Hezbollah is a terrorist organisation".

The 'Tert' also published some biased and terrorist-sympathising letters (without names attached, of course) that state:

"...to all the speakers (apart from those who claim Hezbollah is a terrorist organisation), thank you for opening up my eyes", and another that thanks WUSA for "introducing the innocence of the Lebanese people, especially Hezbollah".

Most UOW students find the Tertangala to be an extremist piece of terrorist-sympathising rubbish, and generally not worthy of being read, so UOW Liberal Club members where pleasantly surprised when a use for the Tert became apparent. As the above photos show, it's great for propping up the unstable tables in the UniBar.

UOW Students rally in opposition to Wollongong Undergraduate Students' Association (WUSA) support of Terrorist organisations PDF Print E-mail

UOW Students rally in opposition to Wollongong Undergraduate Students' Association (WUSA) support of Terrorist organisations.

Staff and students at UOW, including the UOW Anti-Terrorism Collective staged a demonstration against WUSA's support of Hezbollah and other terrorist organisations.

The counter protest demonstrated that WUSA's interests are not in opposing war, but rather to push a one-sided pro-Hezbollah viewpoint. Rather then spending our compulsorily acquired student fees on UOW students, WUSA have chosen to divide the student body, and to push an extremist viewpoint.

UOW Study Reveals that Stock market returns are generally higher under Liberal-National Governments

Stock market returns under Liberal-National ministries are generally higher than returns under Labor ministries, a groundbreaking new study has revealed. The study by Professor Andrew Worthington at the University of Wollongong.s School of Accounting and Finance, believed to be the first of its kind undertaken, examined 59 Liberal-National (and their political antecedents) and Labor ministries and 47 elections since Federation in January 1901 to December 2005.

VSU Passes in Senate - December 2005. PDF Print E-mail

December 2005:

Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU) Legislation passes the Senate

Dr. Brendan Nelson

Dr Brendan Nelson MP

The Higher Education Support Amendment (Abolition of Compulsory Up-front Student Union Fees) Bill 2005 was passed in the Senate on the 9th of December. The VSU Legislation will save Australian Students $161.84 MILLION DOLLARS, which would have otherwise gone to unaccountable student unions such as WUSA, which spent $80,000 of its budget on political campaigns that would only appeal to a minority of students.

The UOW Liberal Club is proud that the Federal Patron of the UOW Liberal Club, The Hon. Dr Brendan Nelson MP, was able to achieve a goal held by Liberal Students for over 25 years.
