30th of January 2009:

In January, members of the UOW Liberal Club met Mr. Barry O'Farrell MP, (leader of the NSW State Opposition and NSW Liberal Party) in the township of Berry. Attending the event was Councilor Gareth Ward (a former UOW Liberal Club President and now Deputy Mayor of Shoahaven City Council) and other Shoalhaven City Council delegates. Also in attendance was The Hon. John Ajaka MLC, the UOW Liberal Club State Patron who has been an invaluable resource for the club.

This event showed the true prominence of the UOW Liberal Club in the on the NSW South Coast; a club with wide ranging political connections and a reputation for having our voices heard within the highest circles of Parliamentary governance.

It was to the the credit of Brad Winton, President of Gerringong Liberal Branch, a University of Wollongong PH.D candidate and the Immediate Past President of the UOW Liberal Club to organise such a successful event.
