Friday, 8 April 2005: UOW Liberals attend Senator John Tierney's farewell dinner, with special guest Prime Minister John Howard  With just under 260 people attending John Teirney.s farewell on Friday night demonstrating his contribution and commitment to politics and the place he made for himself in it. Among them in no particular order Prime minister John Howard, Leader of the state opposition (and hopefully the next NSW Premier) John Brogden MP, the Hon Dr Brendan Nelson and other notable leaders of the liberal and business community.
Aside from a great meal at Daltone house (terrific view right out into the harbour), the members who came up had the opportunity to meet and great these notable people and later enjoy some time at star city. It was by all accounts a terrific evening and for those that could not make it, we encourage you all to seriously consider the next such event. |

Wednesday, 6 April 2005:
UOW Liberals meet with the leader of the NSW Opposition - John Brogden MP the Leader of the NSW Opposition Mr John Brogden MP and Liberal members of Shadow Cabinet and members of Parliament hosted the University of Wollongong Liberal Club for drinks in NSW Parliament House after a quick tour.
This drinks function was part of our Liberal Club networking series that gave members the opportunity to meet other members of our Club as well as Liberal leaders in our local community. With just under 100 people attending from up and down the coast it proved to be a great night and the Liberal Club would like to thank everyone who came for making it such a success. |
