The University of Wollongong Liberal Club is one of the most active and successful clubs at the University of Wollongong, and is arguably the most successful University Liberal Club in the state of New South Wales.
In recent elections, our ticket won positions on: - UniCentre Board of Directors;
- University Council;
- Academic Senate;
- and... positions on faculty advisory committees.
While the Illawarra is not traditionally the friendliest demographic area to those flagging the benefits of the Liberal Party and liberalism, the University of Wollongong Liberal club is indeed the rose amongst the political thorns at the University and in the Illawarra.
While the club holds its roots in political functions, the club is also committed to the community of the
University. The club is committed to reforming the Student Council and lobbying the University administration on issues of importance to all students. Our links with Parliamentarians, both State and Federal are such that we can also bring outside pressure on important public issues.
